Kuzeyboru’s Signature on Turkey’s Largest Natural Gas Storage Facility

Kuzeyboru has left its mark on one of Turkey’s largest investments—a project with a total gas capacity of 5.4 billion cubic meters, making it the country’s largest natural gas storage facility.

At the BOTAŞ Tuz Gölü Underground Natural Gas Storage Project, Kuzeyboru continues its shipments of Steel-Reinforced Spiral Pipes at full speed. Following the work on site, Kuzeyboru Site Engineer Kazım Ekin stated:

“It is an honor for us to be part of one of Turkey’s most important projects and to supply our steel-reinforced corrugated pipes here. Our extensive technical expertise, experience, and production speed in the manufacture of spiral-wound steel-reinforced corrugated pipes have made Kuzeyboru the preferred choice for this major project. This project will help eliminate potential interruptions in supply during the winter months when demand is particularly high. As Kuzeyboru, we are proud and happy that our brand has been chosen for such valuable projects in our country.”

This major project, Turkey’s largest natural gas storage facility and one of the biggest investments of 2019, will have a total gas capacity of 5.4 billion cubic meters as of 2023. Upon completion, the daily withdrawal capacity is expected to increase to 80 million cubic meters. The project has already reached 600 million Sm³ of working gas capacity and a daily withdrawal capacity of 20 million Sm³.
