Our Malatya CTP Pipe Investment Continues

Since 2001, Kuzeyboru has been leveraging its expertise in water management and infrastructure solutions, and is pressing ahead with its new investment in Malatya, launched to contribute to regional development. The Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Pipe (CTP) project, initiated in the Malatya 3rd Organized Industrial Zone on an area of 64,359 m², will cost approximately 500 million TL and is scheduled to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2024.

Kuzeyboru’s Glass Reinforced Plastic (CTP) pipes, planned for production in 2024, belong to the plastic pipe segment and are referred to as “sand-filled” production. They are increasingly used, especially in drinking water projects, thanks to their resistance to corrosion, long service life, and easy, fast installation. CTP pipes have started to become a preferred choice for public institutions and large-scale projects. The product is suitable for drinking water, irrigation, sewerage, stormwater discharge, and wastewater projects.

According to Global Market Insight, the global CTP pipe market reached USD 5.46 billion in 2020 and is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 4.5% between 2021 and 2027. Upon completion of this investment, Kuzeyboru will increase its total production area to 191,350 m² and achieve an annual production capacity of 305,000 tons.

Kuzeyboru’s Strategy and Business Development Director, Emine Seldüz, shared details about the project and the investment, stating:

“This investment will make a significant contribution to the Turkish economy. With this high-technology, high-capacity facility, we will support both exports and the infrastructure investments needed in the region. As of today, the construction progress has reached 80%. We aim to complete the construction within 2023, in line with our agreement with the contractor. Orders have been placed with suppliers for the machinery and industrial applications involved in the investment, and we expect to begin trial production around mid-2024. In addition, as part of Kuzeyboru’s sustainability policies, we are making an environmentally friendly investment, considering not only employment and economic contributions in the region but also environmental protection.”
