Kuzeyboru’s infrastructure systems were selected for the Submarine Operations, a World Bank–supported project for renewable energy production in Çanakkale. Our products, which are preferred not only for superstructure but also for infrastructure and submarine projects, were chosen for the transport of submarine power cables across the Çanakkale Strait.
In this project—implemented by Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ)—our cable protection pipes were used along a 4.5 km route between the Anatolian and Thracian sides, as part of a third double-circuit submarine cable line with a nominal capacity of 1,000 MW per circuit. Within the scope of the project, a double-circuit submarine power cable system and an underground cable system with a nominal capacity of 1,000 MW per circuit are being constructed, including the İzmit Gulf Crossing and supporting structures.
